Hi! I’m Vasun, an amateur baker & cook from the sunny island- Singapore,
currently in Auckland, New Zealand . I started cooking and baking ever since I’ve had my own kitchen after I got married. Initially, most of the cakes were a disaster and now, I’ve gotten the hang of things. But I’ve my fair share of kitchen disasters still. It’s all part of a learning process.
I grew up in a kitchen where I observed my grandparents making everything from scratch, without modern machinery. They owned a small provision shop in Joo Chiat and on the side, my grandmother used to sell dosas, curries and chutneys.
About the blog
This blog serves as a collection of recipes that I make for my family and friends in my tiny apartment kitchen and of all the food-related travels that my husband and I embark on. We love different flavours from different cuisines and this is often reflected in what we eat and choose to cook.
All the recipes and photographs in this blog are made and taken by me.
Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. Do say “Hello!” in my comments. I’d love to know who you are : )

Hi again! (yes we’ve met through IG) my brother was born in Signapore, we were living there at the time ⤠Learn as much as from your grandparents as you can. My grandmother is 96!!! (the only grandparent I have left) Shw doesn't cook much now, but she used be to be a fabulous cook. A few months ago asked her how she used to make her croquettes (the best in the world). She only replied: I can't say because I never measured it's intuitive. Such a shame…. but it must run in the family because thats how I cook too. xxx
